M.C.S. Noble Middle School
Noble
Middle School is located in historic Wilmington, North Carolina.
The school is named for Marcus Cicero Stephens Noble, the first
superintendent of New Hanover County Schools. The original building
was constructed in 1969, and the addition was completed in 1991.
The school colors are maroon and gold, and the mascot is the eagle.
The school motto is "It is noble to have a friend, but nobler
to be a friend."

About
the Director
Patti
Knauf is a 1996 graduate of East Carolina University. She completed
her teaching internship at Noble Middle School in May 1996 under
the direction of Dr. Joe Peterson. Mrs. Knauf has taught K-5 general
music and was the band director at Swansboro Middle School in Onslow
County from 1998-2005. While teaching in Onslow County, Mrs. Knauf
played trumpet with the Onslow Brass Company and later with the
Onslow Winds Community Band.
Mrs. Knauf served
as the Chairperson for the Solo Ensemble Festival for the Eastern
District Band Association from 2004-2006. In Spring 2006 she had
the honor of being the guest clinician and conductor for Pender
County's Middle School All-County Band. Mrs. Knauf earned her Master
of Music in Music Education degree in June 2006. |
